Reading review
My predictions for The short and incredibly happy life of Riley. On the front cover it shows a happy mouse hugging a small sad man. My thoughts were that the small man was Riley and he started off sad but he finds something he likes and becomes happy and has an incredibly happy and short life. But when you turn the first page it shows the same happy mouse sleeping hugging the same small sad man. Then I started thinking the mouse was Riley. Reading the book it showed the mouse Riley being happy with the small things in life where humans are never happy and always need the next best thing. When you finish it ends with Riley dying happily and the author suggesting to be content with the small things in life. For me this book is so true with it saying stuff like humans want to be taller-shorter-thinner-here-but-much-bigger-there-curly-straight-younger-older-less-spotty-moustache-smooth-skin-golden-tan-gorgeous-irresistible-not-bald-and-famous-in-a-painting.( that took very long to type by the way) This is a very good book if you're looking for a laugh.

Great review Lachlan! I can't believe Riley died! I like the way you included a quote from the book.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a good moral, especially in society these days where things are constantly changing. Has this made you want to do anything differently?
It has inspired me to appreciate the small things in life and not to take things for granted.
