Mt Richardson

Water, food, jacket and jersey. The list kept going on in my mind over and over again. As a collected everything I realised something was missing my William Pike shirt! It was a Friday morning on the 13 March. My School was climbing Mt Richardson. It was also a William Pike challenge so I needed my shirt! I looked everywhere even in my sister's room but time was against me. So I had to go without my shirt. As I jumped in the car I thought about the journey ahead. When I got there I head straight to the Mt Thomas room. Then we headed to the bus. I sat next to Harry and we were off.

When we got there everyone was excited. We got in a line and started. Jack,Eb,Hugh and I got to the front pretty quickly. After the first hour I started getting sore but luckily we had a break. When we set off I was fuelled and ready to go . When we left I was sore again after half an hour of walking. Then I started recognising parts of the track which was even worse because I would run to the place I recognised hoping to see the top. But filled with despair when I saw more track. In the next hour not much happened until I saw the rockslide part of the track I remembered that it was near the end. After that I just ran till I got up the top. I was first there quickly followed by Holly. The next 30 minutes we had our lunch, looked for snow berries( without much luck) and sat down and talked.

When it was time to start are decent we weren't too sad. Going down was so fun. Me, Jack,Eb,Hugh,Kate and Josh( former loburn student helping out) would sprint then wait then sprint and so on. It was great Eb jumped of a big ledge and fell into a big mud puddle. It felt much quicker on the way down and as soon as I knew we were near I sprinted and just fell on the grass. I was the first down. When we got on the bus we were chatting away all the way back. It was so fun. Hopefully we do this at High School.

  1. This post had me hooked from the start. I like the way you rattled off your list, clearly very prepared for the event. First up and first back - fancy that. It sure was hard on the body. I am also pleased you stayed well away from me when you were sprinting, I would have had a heart attack if I had to deal with wrecked bones and gnarly gashes.
Very entertaining writing - next time aim to include paragraphs, to group your ideas.

    1. Will do have been getting feedback on having paragraphs. So it will be a goal for my next piece of writing.
