Food groups
This year for camp we did something different instead of having a camp cook. The teachers must have felt for the parent cooking for our whole class because this year we had food groups. The way a food group works is you have a group of 4,5 or 6 people in group and they sort out food for the whole camp. It seemed like a great idea and everyone was willing to do it. I was in a group of four with Riely,Alex and James.Sorting out prices and quantities of food seemed to not be as difficult as I once thought. When we got to camp food was the last thing on mind. But dinner loomed closer. Riely was cooking dinner and I wasn’t worried for Riely because he is quite a good cook. Dinner was amazing it was chicken breast in a pita pocket with salad. Yummy! It certainly set the standard. All the following meals were very good some highlights were Pancakes,Burgers,Porridge and American hot dogs. Overall I think that the food groups idea was a success and I would do it again.
Christchurch tour guide
Have ever been wandering around Christchurch aimlessly not knowing what to do? Well now you don't have to with Lachlan’s guide around Christchurch. You can now learn the hot spots of Christchurch in handy light weight book. Why don't go to the museum with its ever changing exhibits and grasp New Zealand's ever changing history. Quake city is always an excellent place to visit learning about the devastation an earthquake can make and how a city can recover. There are many amazing landmarks like the bridge of remembrance,Christchurch cathedral(currently under repair),Cardboard Cathedral and many more. If you are with kids I strongly recommend the Margaret Mahy playground. It is an amazing place. If you an art fan the art gallery is a great place for you and there is a lot of graffiti art if you look for it. And if you do prefer having a tour guide and your feet get tired easily. Take the tram. It has stops along most of the must see places that I have mentioned. I strongly urge you to see these amazing places.
